Audio commentary from director Walter Hill
7 deleted/extended/re-edited scenes
'The Warriors - An Introduction': an on-camera intro by director Walter Hill about the new version of the film
'The Beginning - From Novel To Screen': conversations with novelist Sol Yurick, screenwriter Walter Hill and the producers discuss the challenges of getting the film made at Paramount
'The Battleground - Casting The Warriors': Walter Hill, cast members and others discuss casting, rehearsals and more
'The Way Home - Making The Warriors': Walter Hill and the producers discuss the making of the film, the production design, cinematography, locations, costumes, stunts, editing and more
'The Phenomenon - Releasing The Warriors': Walter Hill and others discuss how the film became a cult classic

looks good - except - i just read some dudes review of it - it sounds awful.
they've added in some ancient greek battle clip at the start and it uh goes into some fuckin comic book mode between scenes....like you're not watching a movie but reading a comic...what the fuck??

also - walter hill starts the commentary with 'i don't believe in commentaries' and there is no actual commentary...ugh!?

probably buy it anyway...ugh

DVD Review magazine (SITH on the front issue) had an article (interview with Water Hill) and a review of the new DaViD.

The featurettes look quite good. The Way Home details the fight scenes.
Film gets 4/5, the extras get 3/5.

As for the new version, some dudes won't like it but they hammer home the point that this is what Water wants - original vision etc. Yep the prelude is in and the chapters are done in comic book stylee.

Probably would have been a good idea to include the original theatrical version too.

New version of Escape From New York gets a good write up.

dude buy the original version as well...that's super cheap

i hear the transfer is really clean on the new one and kinda spoils the grimey vibe of what we'rr use'to

yeah just a trailer on the other one though.
i can't believe the tv cut isn't an extra on either version - probably the version you have with the daylight meeting of the warriors in coney...cleons girlfriend is in it for a bit too.

I only have it taped off Moviedrome so I will.
Same night as they showed La Haine as well, I have them both on tape too. Best night of TV ever.

The Warriors playstation game is great too, they haven't got Ajax's voice right at all though.

The very one. The E240 tape contains The Warriors, La Haine and The Granton Star Cause [one of The Acid House stories about dude turned into a fly which Channel 4 showed separately that weekend]

My copy of this arrived today. The comic book intro is a little silly and self-indulgent, but the transfer is amazing. Not at all like a 26-year old movie.

Swan is so old now. He looks like hell.
