us hardcore.... (1 Viewer)

For me i'd go for the Crucifucks as the band i go back and listen to the most, two cracking albums, the first, self titled which is a serious of songs in between bizarre phone calls to cops has some amazing punk tunes - particularly the bass lines are deadly, the second album wisconsin is less accessible / amazing but has deadly Lydon style singing to my ears.
I have an album on my HD by them called 'Our will be done' he has a high squealing type of voice.

Andy knows the score. One of my highlights recently from that list is the SQRM - Rodeo album. Quite the influence on Wolfbait too for me at least.

I would add The Zero Boys, The Freeze and Really Red to that list. How the Zero Boys were never bigger escapes me. The first couple of Rollins Band albums after Black Flag have some great tunes as well.

Actually did anyone mention D.O.A.? They invented hardcore

mad to see them playing little gig like this

DOA? They would be insulted by being called us hardcore...seen as they are from Canada...
There a good few bands listed that aren't American. I don't think they would have a problem being listed next to half those bands (especially Bad Brains (RESPECT)) Plenty of bands that could be filed under 80's American hardcore or neither from the 80's or American.

Theres a greatest hits album complete with not great song about northern ireland - somethin generally punk bands have don badly over the years me thinks - and also an album in the 9os released under their name but was actually just the singer and a different band if i remember right which i havent heard but am off to try download now

what do you mean not great, the storey of thomas mcelwee, that includes the great line for an anarcho band "so watch what you call terrorism when the protesant scum gets a bullet in 'em"
