VHI/Europ have turned down my claim for a stolen bag, because it "wasn't reported to the local authorities within 24 hours".
Even though it was, but since the police in Uganda are too busy squabbling over pens and bits of paper and took two weeks to issue me with a report, I don't have proof.
Do I have any recourse? Insurance ombudsman?
Surely since they insure people for these countries, where such occurances are commonplace, they are deliberately mis-selling/mis-representing their product, no?
