The 11th edition of Trashfest is on it?s way. We planned it in the same weekend as K-Town fest, Pressure Fest and probably some other cool fests, but since we had 1540 paying visitors over the three days last year, we couldn?t really be bothered by the amount of competition from other festivals. And since we could even combine some gigs with K-Town and cooperate, it even seems to be working at everyone?s advantage.

We have an extremely international line up this year, with twenty touring bands from all over the globe, we have 9 bands from the United States, 6 German bands, 3 Swedish, 2 Finnish and Belgian bands, a band from Japan, Mexico, Ireland, Australia and the United Kingdom. 14 bands hail from the Netherlands, which brings the counter on 41 acts.

PRE PARTY
We decided to throw ourselves a pre party on Thursday the 22nd of June, the real festival starts the day after. But since there were too many great bands that we wanted on our festival we decided to open up the doors on Thursday evening.

CAMPING
A lot of things are happening concerning the sleepingplaces. We?re gonna use the same camping site that we used last summer. It?s the perfect spot; showers, parking space, isolated and on a walking distance from the venue (15 minutes). We couldn?t be happier with this location. We?re working on an idea to let bands play on the camping during the daytime. In the evening we have to move to the venue (het podium) because of the noise. The camping will be opened from Thursday 17.00 till Sunday afternoon 18.00. Keep checking trashfest.nl for information in the future on this topic.

TICKET PRICES
The prices for trashfest are the following:
Thursday ? 5 ?uro
Friday ? 13 ?uro
Saturday ? 13 ?uro
Sunday ? 13 ?uro
Pass patout for the whole weekend (4 days) ?.30,- (this includes sleepingplaces for three nights)

ORGANIZATION
We expanded our organisation this year. A lot of people who helped us out last year are now officially part of the group. Mark Hoogvliet who sets up shows at the legendary venue Vera in Groningen and Rutger Van Deelen from the ACU in Utrecht joined the team. Along with Johan De Powan, Jan Lenders, Susanne Lamerts, Sabina Dik, Jop Hoekstra, Tim Prins & Jip Daems and myself (Martheun Poolman) who were active since a few editions, the team is complete..

MAKILADORAS FINAL SHOW
Sad news from the north of Holland, Makiladoras decided to quit in the beginning of March, but the good news is....they decided to do the final show at Trashfest on Saturday the 24th. This is gonna be a madhouse, they?ll play a set of an hour in the stage downstairs.

OPEN DUTCH MOSH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006
Last years edition of the ODMC was a blast, with a lot of great competitors and a great band like Moshkovich filling up the room with a rain of classics. This year Dominator from The Hague will have the honour to fill the musical floor for the best moshers that europe has to offer. The cup went to France last year, this year we want to keep the cup in Holland!

If you do go to trashfest buy enough cans saturday to last you Sunday as well for the 'outside' drinking, got stung last year when the 3 supermarkets round the corner from the venue were all closed and I had to buy heineken inside the venue all day.
