"Dublin people don't travel to Irish gigs outside dublin" i honestly think i see dubs at away gigs more than i see cork,galway, belfast etc at gigs in dublin.(of course their is exceptions to the rule) ...off to work will stick a list up later.
 
Best album. bit early to say,but the Rats Blood lp is kicking my ass

Best single. Probably New Gods 7",but again too early to be sure.

Best irish live act: Outcasts

Best overseas live. Lecherous Gaze or Thisclose/Wankys

Best venue: Not very blessed for venues these days,but Tenterhooks os promising.

Best non punk act. Don't be silly there is no best non punk act.

Best zine. Can't think if I bought any Irish zines this year,but good showing from Artcore(Wales) and Negative Insight(US)

Biggest non event: (not always the case though way too common) advertising of gigs. Heard lots of people say "didn't even know about that gig" And missed a bunch myself.

Q.Where have all the punks gone?
A.They've gone metal.

Best session. brainwasher/burnchurch tour session in steve's gaff after waterford gig.
day 3 on tour/drink all sense and inhibitions out the window session.

un-sung hero of irish punk scene alex distroy.
most improved (by improved i mean sober) band The Jollars

greatest loss to punk scene but also best funeral award colin riot

greatest gain to punk scene in 2014 ( haven't been there but from what ive heard) tentor hooks space and collective

looking forward to in 2015,burnchurch album arriving,seeing all the new bands i didn't get round to seeing in 2014
 
Couple of gigs worth a mention.

Duncan Reid,the record was great too.
Graham Day and the Forefathers.

Both gigs I thought would be decent but were way better than expected.
