Yeah, I picked up a bit of that. Maybe not so much death, as leaving, moving, getting lost, aging.

Back in the Crowd is great. And I love the final track - New Year's Eve.

It's beautifully recorded. Just giving it a listen now. On first listen it's quite beatlesy in a way. Pay Me is a lovely song.

First Tom Waits record in a long, long time that I've been smitten with.

Love Tom Waits, read a story where he was asked who he wanted on the album and he said Keith Richards for a joke. The record company took it seriously, and lo and behold two days later, Keith Richards turns up at his house with a truck full of guitars. You gotta love Keef!
