Bought some plums the other day, they were 'orrible.

Can anyone on thumped do that Cherry-knot with your tongue thing?

I haven't had any nice plums yet this year either, hence the last line of my Salute.

The guy I buy my veg off says another week or two and then the first of the Spanish greengages should be out

the trick is to take three or four of them and savour the flavour of each, one by one. then the truth of johnnystresss words will reveal themselves to you.

Olives are yum, I is John. Kalamatas are a good gateway olive - just eat a few of them now and again, and eventually you won't hate them anymore, and eventually you'll like them. Same as more or less anything, except torture, I guess, or work

He's in Temple Bar Farmers Market every Saturday. Egg, being a Wexford Man, you can't forget the strawberry. In season right now! No stones of course.

This site is pretty good - includes a calendar, showing what/when fruit and veg is in season. Irish of course, so not many fancy fruits!

ripe mangoes are hard to beat. mmmm. best to chill them. they remind me of my holiday in burkina faso, you can get a wheelbarrow load of them there for about 10c

Nice! Had some homemade strawberry jam on freshly baked scones yesterday (courtesy of my Mam). Was almost rolling around on the grass with pleasure....

Bought 2 kilos of cherries today. YUM! Maybe a bit extravagant seeing as we're getting nearly a kilo of strawbs a day from the garden now but sure life is short
