No they weren't always shite. It was funny with the release of american idiot to see kids wearing greenday tshirts again, funny to think that was me 14 years ago!!!

went back to listening to some of those bands i hadn't listened to in years recently, screeching weasel, pinhead gunpowder, mr. t experience, rancid, NOFX. Good times, to be young again!

also old irish favourie - ah black belt jones. Never got into the tony feeney side of the split 7" though.

greenday are one of those many bands i wouldnt pay money to hear...no use imo.. as much as i enjoy the odd bit of pop punk.

The 16-track album is broken into three acts — Heroes and Cons, Charlatans and Saints, and Horseshoes and Handgrenades. The title track quickly kicks into a familiar Green Day three-chord blast, but morphs into multiple movements like some of the more rock-opera-heavy numbers on American Idiot.

I've never had a problem with Green Day to be honest. Never got "into" em but they're a decent band. Wouldn't be pushed to go see em (though I have already in 05) but they're alright.

yeah i was obsessed with Screeching Weasel and NOFX when i was a young fella. NOFX will always be great.
