Re: The Irish Workers' Republican, Atheist, Birth Control, Civil and Industrial Emanc
see this is whats wrong with this whole business - people joining in. its all about bawling drunkenly along to republican battle songs or songs about working mens heroes about james connolly and feeling part of the righteous pack of underdogs. i dont want any punks singing along with me when its my turn. i will pick a tune with a melody so strong that it could be hummed without words but there will be words and i'll sing them humbly from the corner in my strong clear tenor and they will touch the heart of each person in a unique way regardless of politics.
wageslave, i'd say you'd be a good singer. you should stop trimming the beard.
See, if we did a few Thumped song clubs, we could put together some lyric booklets so that everyone could join in. It'd be deadly. I'd say the eirecore folks would be especially trad-tastic.
EDIT: Shaney, I'm really into this idea now. But don't worry, some shiny thing will come along and distract me soon enough.
