Eachtra are an exciting new band who have recently exploded onto the scene in Cork with a deliciously experimental approach to music and performance. It is a free improvisation ensemble whose music leads us on a sonic adventure to some far-flung spheres and back again. Their music is as likely to take us on a wild rollercoaster ride as it is to lull us into the most pleasant of dream-states. The group does not begin and end with sound alone however, but also verges strangely on the theatrical; The band has been known to emerge unexpectedly from among the audience and recently made a somewhat surreal appearance at the Galway Arts Festival.

Was at that ensocarpark gig. Great music and that violinist is a hottie!

But which one? There's two violinists Barry!!

When did Eachtra become "The Eachtra Ensemble"? It's lame.
I fear it'll alienate more kids than it will attract contemporary music heads.
I'm sure ye still sound deadly though.

What does "natch" mean? Is it one of those bullshit internet words?

Anyway if you live in Cork and you don't go to this you're shit.

thanks Gav, I still don't know about the name thing...
Brian from Safe first started calling us the E.Ensemble- We recently played a gig with himself and Mick O' Shea and the name had still stuck. I suppose it feels right when there's the six of us all together. That rarely happens.

Might see you in Limerick!! I'm off work for it anyway...
Lets do it for the kidz!!

Are you sure you're not confusing us with the Ghostwood Project?
They are a rather handsome bunch of chaps.

Yeah that was a deadly night, just saw the dvd again recently-
Really fuckin intense stuff. I still think I deserve more rep points for the lightning bolt scar on my hand... (especially because it turns blue in the cold!)
