i guess there's some melodic bits...like some bits where they aren't playing at a million miles an hour for a second....i dig it. i always say this, but i kinda gave up on screamin and shoutin and metalcore or whatevs for a while and when i heard 'jane doe' i was kinda "oh wait a second, some of these bands are pretty good"

Consisting of eight model landscapes, approximately 3'x5' each, the aptly named installation depicts an incredibly graphic vision of eternal pain with the help of over 5000 miniature people; all of whom are individually hand painted and cast. Characters generally consist of skeletons, naked men and men in Nazi uniform; usually wrapped up in a grim 'what would have happened if the Nazis won' holocaust-style mass execution in the goriest ways possible. The weird thing was that nobody seemed to be the real perpetrators; there were almost as many Nazis being tortured as anyone else. Hell is kool...
Here's what some dude said about it:

I went to the studio, walked into this room and literally fell over. I saw this piece called Hell, this extraordinary sculpture, which consists of some 7,000 or 10,000, basically endless figures, which portrays this kind of Salo-like concentration camp. I was astounded by this piece, it's incredibly beautiful. It shows extraordinary imagination on the part of two relatively young artists, who had come to terms with perhaps the most central drama of European history of the last century - the Holocaust. And the fact that so-called civilized society could descend into almost unbelievably primitive but, at the same time, highly technological barbarity. I looked at this thing and suddenly I knew the show we had to do. The imperative then became to find works of art that somehow measured up to the Chapmans' Hell.

re: the iron - akercocke are this metal (bm? dm? i don't know anymore!) band who wanna look really sharp for satan, so they wear these suits all the time. it's funny. some geeky fans of theirs were following suit (arf) or had just come straight from work. best bit of the gig was when the singer goes
"our dublin brothers, we hear you! and when we hear you...HE hears you!"
and the guy points down to satan. the tbmc managed to make the gig sound really shit. good going guys, so glad i paid 15 euro to hear a snare drum and triggered bass drums. koollll. ah it was alriight like.
