Lows: Teeth of the Sea (daft); Cloaks (old hat); Zombi (shit)
Underwhelmed / disappointed by: Monarch; Turbonegro; Wolves in the Throne Room; Electric Wizard; Scorn; Mike Watt & Missingmen; most of the DJ action and after-show buzz


Regretted missing Cut Hands - reports were ecstatic - caught the W Bennett Q&A which was not too controversial - documentary on Liberia afterward was like a Michael Moore film with actual cannibalism - f'n hardcore

Thought this was a great festival, really incredible sound systems. Highlights were Cut Hands, Scorn, Alva Noto, Byetone, Electric Wizard, Wolves in the Throne Room, DJ Scotch Egg, Bardo Pond (easily the best i've seen them) and Eternal Tapestry.
Only disappointments were Zombi and Part Chimp. Part Chimp seemed to disintegrate by the end of it and you could feel the tension between them on stage so no surprise that they're splitting up!

Most pleasantly surprising and dismal at the same time: Silver Apples. i never imagined I'd enjoy Simeon with CD player but was enthralled for a couple of mins before CD started skipping due to overloaded setup - had to leave - seemingly the new material was pretty awful.

Cheers folks, no chance I could have gone, but good to hear about others' experiences. The Quietus has a good review of it today. Hopefully next year. Alva Noto and Cut Hands sound as if they were great alright.
