Alpha Relish Presents:
‘Super Team’

Super Team: A group of friends in rock bands and animation gangs who hang out together have decided to get on a school tour bus and keep going until we’ve played in all the places around the country we’ve always wanted to. Our first stop is Vicar Street on the 2nd of May followed by Connolly’s of Leap in West Cork on Saturday the 11th of May. More dates around the country will be announced soon. The line-ups will vary but the aim will remain the same. The aim, plane and simple, is fun.

The Redneck Manifesto
The Connect 4 Orchestra
Daemien Frost
The Warlords Of Pez
Weevil
The Chalets

Animation Gangs:
D.A.D.D.Y.

Tickets ae priced at EURO 8.00 + booking fee and are available from Road Records, 16B Fade Street, Dublin 2 or from Vicar Street on the night. The line-up for Connolly’s of Leap on Saturday the 11th of May will include the above acts plus more to be confirmed (check www.AlphaRelish.com for more details). Band members will DJ between sets and the night will rounded off by a disco-style party.

The Redneck Manifesto www.redneckmanifesto.com
The Redneck Manifesto play evocative and emotionally engaging music. In a recent review were described as being “the tightest, most dynamic and consistently interesting band to emerge from Dublin for a very long time indeed”. This resolutely independent group has bypassed the normal channels of industry hype. The successes they have achieved to date - sold-out venues and snapped-up recordings issued on their own label – have been based entirely on their own merits, hard work and a phenomenal word-of-mouth reputation. All this has culminated last year with ThirtySixStrings being voted Irish album of the year by the much-respected Event Guide newspaper in Ireland.
In August last year TRM played at the internationally renowned Witnness festival in Ireland before their biggest ever crowd. Next up is a three song 7” recorded during the ThirtySixStrings sessions to be released on UK label Errol Records in early March. The band have just finished recording “Cut Your Heart Off From Your Head” their second album to coincide with a 16-date European tour lined up for March/April of this year. CYHOFYH will be given an Irish release in mid-April with a full European release in May.

The Connect 4 Orchestra www.connectfour.cjb.net
Formed late 1999, the connectfour orchestra (c4o) are a 5 piece instrumental outfit from Dublin, consisting of former members of Palomine, Loretta and some drifter. They have been compared to bands such as Tortoise, Stereolab, Neu & Paul Newman from their use of Electro, Synths, Guitars and live Drums. They have gradually grown a following from their gigs over the past two years, playing support to the likes of Superchunk, Blonde Redhead & To Rococo Rot to name but a few.
C4O's releases so far have been two singles on the Road Relish label & Greyslate label, plus featured tracks on the 'Dead Languages' compilation and The Mango Music Sampler 'For Your Machine'. They are currently recording their first album, which is set to be released by June of this year.
What some have said:
"The wall of sound that this troubadour of instrumentalists create is so vibrant, powerful and (every hack's favourite adjective) evocative, that the music really does speak for itself" Hotpress, December 2001. "The key to c4o's brilliance is the subtle complexity, with which the listener never gets bored" www.eclectichoney.com

Daemien Frost www.daemienfrost.com
Formed in Dublin in late 2000, Daemien Frost, containing ex members of The Null Set, Spudgun and O, has over the course of just over a year, worked on creating an LP, which has confounded their critics and received high praise from, some would say, their contemporaries.
The path to ‘Corpus Daemo’ is littered with bright lights of encouragement, receiving ‘Single Of The Fortnight’ from The Dublin Event Guide for their first release, a split 7” with The Jimmy Cake on the esteemed Road Relish label (www.roadrelish.com) and a split 7” UK tour single with London’s acclaimed Montana Pete, both receiving high praise from both likely and unlikely corners. Stage sharing with the likes of Sweep The Leg Johnny, Oxes, Guapo, Trans Am and The Fucking Champs served to fuel home ground excitement at the arrival of ‘Corpus Daemo’.
Following ‘Corpus Daemo’s’ release, Daemien Frost and Japan’s Melt Banana released a slit 7” EP on Alpha Relish Records following a friendship which had been struck up some years previously. Trying to describe Daemien Frost’s sound has frustrated the most weathered of journalists, loose comparisons have been drawn to the likes of Laddio Bolocko, Don Caballero, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Captain Beefheart and Sonic Youth.

The Warlords Of Pez www.warlordsofpez.com
“Galactically Renowned Sonic Terrorists”
Known & feared throughout the cosmos for their less than favourable attitude toward most forms of Sentient Life, Art, Music, Performance, and the Collective Contemporary Urban Consciousness. If you have an opinion on any of these issues, then your presence on the evening(s) in question would be greatly desired, or alternatively, if you have no opinion on these matters and would like to develop one based on events witnessed, similarly your presence would be greatly desired. As a third alternative you could just show your face to see what there is to see as little or none of the above makes any real sense, nor gives a clue as to what you can truly expect from a band of masked ne'er-do-wells from the far end of the universe with eons of spare time on their hands and a strong desire to get up to no good.
All we can guarantee is a good time.*
*This is not a guarantee.

The Chalets www.thechalets.com
“TWO GIRLS, TWO BOYS AND A DRUMMER”
Shiny, Brand New band The Chalets are only six months old. Unfortunately, they only have a combined mental capacity of a child of the same age. Comprised of members of The Warlords of Pez, former members of Palomine and Baba Snooks, and some other talentless chancer, their aim was to create beautiful harmonies with shouty bits thrown in to stop them looking gay.
Of course, they sound nothing like what they imagined, but what are you gonna do?
This will be The Chalets first gig. If nothing else, seeing them making a balls of everything in front of their mammies and daddies should be worth the admission price alone. Cry.

Weevil
An amazing blend of Fugazi and Paul Newman stylings from Cork. Not much known about these guys but we know we love them.

D.A.D.D.Y. www.teamdaddy.com
D.A.D.D.Y. are 3 light emitting dudes who will make all your Celtic 3d fantasies come true. Videos completed: Creative Controle: "Bloodrush", Warlords of Pez: "Padre Pio".
Videos in production: Decal, Nina Hynes.

Delicious 9 www.deliciousnine.com
On the night, del9 will be doing a whole load of animated visual treats mixed live along with anything else we can think of. Also screening bits n pieces of recent & upcoming music videos by The Jimmy Cake, Spectac, Daemien Drost, The Coldspoon Conspiracy, The Connectfour Orchestra, Goodtime John, Jeff Martin, and any others we can pull out of the bag before then.
There will be a couple of interactive animation pieces for people to fiddle with on the night..... Shhh, be wery wery quiet we're hunting rabbits…
