International Bar (upstairs), Wicklow Street, Dublin 2

This week, we present the Lazybird debut of Nina Canell & Robin Watkins, aka Cat & Dog Dialogue, The New Heat and Obscured by Light. Although both are originally from Sweden, they've been living here in Ireland for several years now, and have degrees from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and several installations around the country to show for it.
Their first musical release was a self-titled 3" CD-R on Dublin-based experimental label Slow Loris, and they've just released a 12" LP on Oscillatone Records. Although technically a split release between The New Heat and Obscured by Light, Nina & Robin are responsible for all the sounds on the record: the former is more space-rocky, with guitars, drums and various keyboards, while the latter is taken from an installation the pair had in the Temple Bar Gallery between September '04 and January '05.
Their most recent live performance was on July 21st in the Project Arts Centre, and was a big success, so we're really looking forward to having them play with us this Sunday. Hope you can make it down.
