Stomp returns as promised with a full night of Dubstep and Drum and Bass action! Taking over the newly refurbished downstairs area of The Mercantile on Dame Street, the Stomp crew plans on putting this place to the test and have assembled a top local line up and given them just one instruction, “go fucking crazy”.

Executive Steve -

Long establised on the Irish DnB/Jungle scene, Executive Steve is exactly the kind of guy you turn to when you plan on doing a night filled with local talent. Falling into both catogories admirably the promoter/journalist/DJ is a resident DJ with the Reach Crew (those guys who have been putting on badass nights all over the place for some time now ) hosts a weekly DnB radio show on Radió na Life 106.4 ( Wednesday's, 9pm – 10:30 pm ) and as such was the perfect choice for final vinyl junkie of the night. Describing his sets is as simple as floating the following hypothetical “Imagine a really good DJ, and now imagine he's playing really good music, and now imagine that music is Drum and Bass and NOW imagine that you are really enjoying it.” , that largely sums it up right there. There is not a single member of the Stomp Crew who hasn't seen this guy turn in a set, and we are delighted to have him closing out the night for us.
Executive Steve has the voice of an angel, the snake-hipped charm of a ballroom dancer, the soft and uncalloused hands of a kept man and the cold hard stare of a contract killer. Known to take the occasional sip of sherry, he enjoys long walks by the beach, quiet nights in, and all of the finer things in life. He is wanted by police in more countries than he can name, has a weakness for the kindness and the company of women, is a fearless ace pilot, a revolutionary, a noted wit, raconteur and citizen of the world. Women want him, men want to BE him. Executive Steve likes his basslines low, his strings sampled and his beats broken.

Welfare -

This is another one of those guys who does it all. DJ/Producer/Promoter and full time sound skin, Welfare will be bringing plenty of Dubstep and Drum and Bass that will curl you toes, straigthen your hair and reset your heartbeat all at the same time. Currently making a run for the title of busiest DJ on the scene at the moment (everytime i talk to him it's more gigs, more tracks, more awesome ) Welfare is also host of the long running Welfare Clinic on Radió na Life FM106.4. Some kind of half man, have dub machine, Welfare is a joy to behold on the decks, well selected tracks and silky smooth transisitions result in sets that are effective celebrations of the joy of good fucking music. One of the most passionate people about music the Stomp Crew has ever met, we can once again say we are delighted to have Welfare doing his thing for us.

Ganjdalf -

A hippie with a seriously dubby dark streak, STOMP's own Ganjdalf's sets tend to contain some of the straight up heaviest, nastiest tunes you will find. Having once tried to kill people with Dubstep in Dublin's The Vaults he returned a few weeks later and tried to do the same thing with Drum and Bass. His promo vid for the first Stomp gig resulted in a guest spot on Executive Steve's show on Radió na Life and now he returns to Stom to deliver a mix of Dubstep and Drum and Bass. When he's not mixing tracks, he's hugging bass bins and his most awesome experience is sharing a pint with Motorhead's Lemmy.

Shatterfreak -

STOMP's Shatterfreak has very quickly made a name for himself in the Dubstep scene. With support from DJ's like Tokimonsta who has played out one of his tracks in L.A's Low End Theory , DJ Skirmish on England's IMPACT FM and Itchy Robot and the After Dark Crew on Sub FM Shatterfreak is certainly turning into one to watch in Irish Dubstep. His first album is already out on Canadian label Intellegenix, he did a guest spot on the Welfare Clinic that delivered some pretty furious Dubstep madness and now he makes his live debut at STOMP. Rapidly becoming known for sets that involve some seriously heavy tracks, he is sure to kick the night off in style.
