Thurs Sept 30th
Jamie Lidell LIVE
Support from Kistar

Jamie's been compared to the likes of Funkadelic and Marvin Gaye. Strange comparisons when one may initially consider Jamies music to be techno. Not so, more of a twisted collaboration of technology-influenced funk, obsessed with the mysteries of bass and studio techniques. Jamie's show is a fast paced one-man show that should be seen to be believed. His last 2 shows have blown away Irish audiences and its fitting that he should perform his high-energy show in the Spiegel tent. Not to be missed.

Kistar
Kistar are a duo consisting of Ray O Donoghue and Josie Doherty. Their music has been described as Nu-Soul. They have recorded together several times and have just started taking the show on the road. Josie's Gospel style vocals and Ray?s blues/ funk style guitar makes for a very pleasurable aural experience.

Reviews on Jamie Lidell.....

"Lidell's set was pure, visceral power: a scintillating display of demented musical and physical energy. He transformed his voice, and his body, into a musical cyborg, sampling vocal riffs and noises that built into textures of shuddering intensity....... It was a thrilling live performance, both experimental and immediate. Lidell was the highlight of the evening, and he made the Sinfonietta's performances, conducted by Jurjen Hempel, seem insipid by comparison". The Guardian Review of The London Sinfonietta, Squarepusher and Jamie Lidell. "It was exhilarating in a masochistic kind of way, most of all in Jamie Lidell's astounding solo performance, which combined ecstatically abandoned singing with a lightning-fingered performance on samplers and sequencers...." The Telegraph Review of The London Sinfonietta, Squarepusher and Jamie Lidell

Valleo at 01-6792320. That's not how you spell it but it rhymes with Gallileo which I think i'm also spelling wrong.
You'd want to get moving quickly on this. He's out a lot and not great at returning calls......

The general Fringe email and phone numbers are:-

Vallejo is the primary man to talk to, but there are others who can help, and he is kinda difficult to get hold of at this time of year.

you dufus... the last time we played together was over a year ago in whelans when we came back off tour. if memory serves me, i booked the venue, did 90% of the promotion and got the posters done. ball's in your court... ye lanky rocker.

er no, we played together at the RR christmas thing. Anyway i've no interest in "taking turns" I just want you to do everything so i can turn up and get pissed and borrow leads, pedals, plecs and stuff.

I take it yr out of the country then. Ya have to give them a cd so it's best to get one of your bandmates to contact them. It's looking like Murmansk and UBS
but on seperate nights. He said he was going to put us on with bands who might actually sell tickets which is cool. Damo Frost, UBS and some other ticket-selling band could be a gruesome show, we could tell him we'd be into that for what it's worth. On the plus side, this thing runs from Sept 20 to Oct 10 which means ther'l be a lot of slots to fill.

aye, am in bristol. i've mailed him... if you'd put in a word, that's be cool and i'll get one of the guys to send him a cd at the weekend. you got an address i can send it to? PM me! thanks.

hey, if you got a problem with the 'guitar players' in daemo frost, take it up with them. i lost a kick pedal at that gig and i know nothing about guitars, i've told you this before.
