Paul G. Smyth, as well as being a member of The Jimmy Cake and Boys Of Summer, has toured with Charles Gayle, and played with Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Keiji Haino, Barry Guy, John Russell, Chris Corsano and Damo Suzuki, been a featured composer in the National Concert Hall, written music for theatre, and performed in 17 countries. Most recently, Smyth was invited by Russell to perform at Fête Quaqua in London, where he worked with John Butcher, Lol Coxhill, Max Eastley, Roger Turner, Hannah Marshall, Chris Burn, Bill Hsu, Dylan Bates, Jean Bordé and Ute Wassermann, as well as Russell himself. This has led to a duo with Hannah Marshall, and the formation of this trio with Marshall and percussionist Mark Sanders, which premiered in London last February.
Hannah Marshall is a member of the London Improvisors Orchestra, and her numerous ongoing projects include The Trio of Uncertainty, with Veryan Weston and Satoko Fukuda; SOL 6, with Luc Ex, Veryan Weston, Ingrid Laubrock, Mandy Drummond and Tony Buck; Zinc, with Tim Hodgkinson and Roger Turner; a trio with Steve Beresford and Leila Adu, and the Alexander Hawkins Ensemble, to name only a few.
Mark Sanders has played with most of the UK's major improvisors, including Derek Bailey, Paul Rutherford, Barry Guy, Lol Coxhill, Phil Wachsmann, John Butcher and Keith Tippett.
He has also played with Roswell Rudd (with Elton Dean's Ninesense), Tim Berne and Ned Rothenberg (with Evan Parker), trios with Charles Gayle, with Sirone and william Parker, Mark Dresser, Butch Morris' London Skyscraper, and John Tchicai and Leo Smith with Springheel Jack playing festivals in the UK, France and Portugal.
He has toured the UK and Scandinavia and played Minneapolis Jazz Festival with Peter Brötzmann.
Mark has toured the USA and Canada, and played in Europe, Turkey and Japan with Jah Wobble, and played in Europe, USA and Canada with Evan Parker.
A member of many groups, notably ZFP Quartet with Carlos Zingaro/Simon Fell/Marcio Mattos, and SPEEQ, with Hasse Poulsen, Luc Ex, Sidsel Endresen and Phil Minton, which in the last year has played Banlieaus Bleues, Jazz d'Or, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Le Mans Festival, Jazz Sur l'Edre, Poitiers and Bordeaux Festival.
