Opening Tuesday 6th September at The Empress Gallery, Citigolf, Forsyth House, Cromac Street, Belfast at 7.00pm
The exhibition Si Post Fata Venit Gloria Non Propero ('if one must die to be recognized, I can wait') selects and reconfigures some of Joe Ryan's vast output from the previous six years, into a unique juxtaposition. Some of the prints on display depict war zones and uprisings, while others reference more local and personal issues.
Joe Ryan is a printmaker currently based in Dublin, where he is a member of the Graphic Studios. Since graduating from Middlesex University in 2003, and having gained a masters in Fine Art from the University of East London in 2005, Joe Ryan has exhibited extensively both in the UK, Ireland and abroad.
Exhibition continues 7 September - 9 October, open daily 10-4pm
