Sexism, god help us (6 Viewers)

It's not just a city thing, but it is worse in Dublin then other places that I've noticed.

When I was 18 I was followed home, I told him a couple of times that I was ok, that I wasn't comfortable and that I wanted to be left alone. He just kept saying that a pretty girl like me couldnt be left out alone. I ended up running away and taking some dodgy shortcuts to get away from him.
I think he genuinely didnt get how creepy it was.

At my neice's christening a guy grabbed me, lifted me up and said "You're the reason men go to prison for rape".

Whelans was pretty bad for a while. It got to the stage that I would go to the bar for drinks one at a time if it was my round. I think it was at a !!! that two different guys came up behind me and grabbed me when i couldnt put my hands up to stop them. After the second one I told him "I'll break your fucking legs if you touch me again", he walked back to his friends laughing.

One Christmas I was getting a porno for my friends chris kringle.
The dvds were kept in a room that was like a side closet. A guy came in after me and started wacking off. I had no way to get out without touching off him, so had to wait till he finished. Luckily he was a dab hand and I wasn't stuck there long. My friend loved his present though.

I was waiting for a nightline 2 years ago when a guy walked over to me. He didnt say anything, just grabbed me and started kissing me. One of his friends pulled him back away, but not before he pushed me in to the bus stop bar and called my me a cunt.

The last shitty one was a few months ago. I was walking by Connelly station at about 3 in the afternoon with my girlfriend when two guys came out of the bar and thought it was funny to surround me. One was an ass guy and one was a tits one. It only lasted 5-10 seconds but was still scary as fuck.

There were loads more, but they kinda blur.
People are pricks.
Jaysus. Just no words for that

A friend of mine was at a bus stop in Shoreditch once and this sleazy drunk guy was harassing a girl who was waiting for a bus on her own. Seeing that she looked uncomfortable he started a conversation with her acting as if he knew her. They ended up getting the same bus together and just got chatting on the way home. She thanked him for stepping in and told him the name of the bar she worked at. The next day he went along to the bar and gave one of her colleagues a note with his phone number on it saying “hey it’s xxxxx from the bus last night. Hope you got home ok. Just wondering if you fancied a drink sometime”. He heard nothing from her and was totally gutted and boycotted that bar for months.

The note was a not a great move here.

Yeah handing any bartender a note is never going to work.

"Hi I see you work around liquid and drunken assholes all night. Here please take this flimsy piece of paper with ink on it and guard it with all your might, for it may be the only connection i have to one of your lovely co-workers, oh and can I have two pints of stella and a package of crisps. Thanks"

I think it would have been worse if had been working when he dropped in. “Hey, remember me, the guy who stepped in when that creep was harassing you last night? Well, it seems I’m stalking you now!”
