The Scratch Perverts are back on our shores for another instalment of top tunes mixed up in there own unique style. You may think they only play Rap tunes but this couldn't be further from the truth. As Tony Vegas says Hip Hop is something that came from a lot of different music, Its not just a rapper that makes a record, a Hip Hop record its about a vibe and if a record has that vibe I personally look upon it as being integrally Hip Hop. This is certainly true of their sets where you are as likely to hear Aphex twin or Roni Size as you are LL Cool J or Run DMC. Even the likes of White Stripes and Nirvana get a spin at a Scratch Perverts gig.
These boys are serious DJs. Having won just about every DJ title possible they are obviously seriously gifted on the turntables. The great thing is, however, you don’t go to a Scratchers gig to see them show off their technical skills, they have nothing to prove, you go to be entertained. They know that fundamentally this is a DJs job. So if you’d like to have a damn good night out and see DJing taken as close to an art form as possible check these boys out.
