running soft synths through pedals (1 Viewer)

Found a box of my old guitar pedals in the attic.

Is there a way I could loop back into Pro Tools (via the mixer) to run a soft synth through a pedal and record it back into PT simultaneously?

This must be fairly straight forward right? Only problem I can imaging is that I'll have to choose either the Right or the Left only...

EDIT: I guess my fear is that I might just accidentally create a feedback loop in on top of itself

I've often done it with my protools, there shouldn't be a loop if the record track isn't also being sent to the pedals

If it starts feeding back in a loop yank the wire out quickish

Record the feedback loop if it happens and release it on a 50 copy tape.

Do you have more than two outputs?

If so, route soft synth to output 3.
Connect cable from output 3 to pedal.
Output from pedal to input whatever.
Set up an aux input in pro tools with input whatever and output 1-2 or however you're routing the rest of the mix.
