This Sunday at lazybird:

Richer Than Astronauts are a five-piece Dublin band who play music together privately every Thurday or so. Unusually, they will be performing publicly on Sunday 17 July at Lazybird.
Inevitably, their music has been likened to various artists, all well liked and of good pedigree.
Though articulate, Richer Than Astronauts are lazy. (So they should fit right in!)

Door open at 8:30 and it will be a fiver in.

Tune into the Lazybird Show live on www.PowerFm.org this Sunday from 6pm to 7.30pm. This week Mossy and Neil will be "playing CDs and records"

They sometimes rehearse twice a week but then they are exhausted! My friends thought they were like Yo La Tengo crossed with Talking Heads. Make sure the keyboard player has no microphone as he sings too loud. See you there.

I don't know this band but I'm as open minded as the next man, How is this supposed to entice anyone not familiar with the band to check them out?
Or are ye just too embarrassed to use the term 'post rock'
What about Joe Six Pack and bums on seats?

Hi 5 For Fancy Pants and his put-down

anyone listen to the radio show? it's actually very good.

Listening to it right now--pretty good so far.

And "Radio-Inactivity" is a brilliant name. Let's keep it.

Paul

P.S. Richer Than Astronauts were indeed really good last night (although personally I heard very little Yo La Tengo or Talking Heads in them).
