Record Store Day - April 18 2009 (1 Viewer)

Re: freebird records celebrating record store day

Saw who was on the comp. Not for me,although I didn't really expect so anyway.
I was gonna ask was it possible to keep stuff on the day,but then thought of it as rude. But since you offered.......

Villagers are in road, and from what I heard of the Road comp so far it's very good.

Damn, I wish I could be in town on saturday. Damn.

From the road website.

Ok, the limited edition cd compilation is finally all ready and finalized. There will be only 100 copies of this beauty available. All copies will be hand numbered. Each sleeve with have a limited photographic print and no two copies will be the same. They all comes in lovely recycled card sleeves and believe us, they are very beautiful. The tracklisting is as follows
01 Villagers - Home (early demo)
02 Large Mound - Rubbish Coffee
03 Halfset - Body Clock
04 Dinah Brand - Go Inside
05 Legion of Two - Swan Song
06 Jape - Cathedral Tramp
07 Chequerboard - City of Thieves
08 Brian Cullen's Love Bullets - Killing for Company
09 So Cow - Sheila the Destroyer
10 Katie Kim - Lamp (Home Recording)
11 Waiting Room - Denis (Decal Remix)
12 The Dudley Corporation - Laugh it Up
13 John Haggis - Bitter Root
14 T-Woc - Tubz
15 Halves - Blood Branches
16 The LK - Eurovision (Northstation Remix)

And these are the instores that Road have lined up for Saturday:

12pm: Paul Noonan and Lisa Hannigan
1:30pm: Villagers
3:00pm: Neil Hannon
5:00pm: Jape

I'm going to be in London on Saturday. Anyone know of any good events happening over there for Record Store Day?

The Rough Trade Shops will have tonnes of stuff happening on Saturday. More things than you can shake a thing at.

And just to illustrate how limited some of these records are gonna be, the Rough Trade shops have taken to raffling their RSD allocations because they only have 5 - 10 of each title

yo dudes,
further to my first post..

This Saturday Freebird Records will celebrate Record Store Day with a 20% off all stock in both stores and live dj sets in the Cope St. shop (Temple Bar) from the cream of the crop of Irish djs:

playing funk, soul, dubstep, hiphop, electro, beebop, dancehall and everything in between.

Exclusive and very limited 7"s from the likes of Tom Waits, The Smiths, New Order, The Stooges, MC5, Jane's Addiction & more...

All this is for one day only, so come down to support your local vinyl dealer this Saturday (and spread the word...)

it seems to look as though sony havent sent out anything for this.
so dont expect anything on the columbia label to be in(which is a shame!).

so no springsteen, cohen, dylan etc.

:(

got lots of MC5 and stooges.

also a NEW ORDER single which wasnt listed previously..
and a GRAHAM COXON 10" release.
