I quite like these guys but when I listen to them it feels like they're playing in a room and I'm outside listening through the closed door. Or like I have a large build up of wax in my ears. It just doesn't sound nice to me.
I don't like it.

And now I see their producer/guitarist is named the most influential something or other in music by NME.

he does seem to have some kind of elevated status in certain parts, not just NME.

i'm not convinced.

I don't really feel qualified enough to say whether he's genius or not, but he's obviously good at his job! apparently he's worked with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Celebration and Foals too. Have a feeling he might just be all over the place this year.

I've not listened to much TVONTHER since the first record, but some of the stuff on that was amazing. Staring at the sun is basically a bass line, vocal harmonies and the odd skittish guitar breaks and it sounds HUGE

That album sounded HUGE at parts. Like you were listening to her on the best festival sound system ever. Her vocals sounded process beyond belief though.
