I was in music maker and I was shown a PDP FX kit (Birch) and I was wondering what kind of kit is it compared to the likes of Pearl, Tama etc...
I`ll be playing metal but I`ve had Pearl before so i was hoping to stay with Pearl but they dont sell Pearl for some reason. Just want some feed back about PDP kits, good, bad, good for this kind of music????
Any feed back would be cool, cheers.

PDP are very good. I think they're made in Taiwan as the Asian made arm of DW, so the quality is very good.
I reckon they would piss all over a Pearl Kit in the same price and spec point.

What's your budget? You should maybe check out Gretsch and Sonor Kits from Thomann.de for good value but solid drums.

Don't know much about Tama, but Lars uses them doesn't he ;)

one of the worst drummers of all time.

Rather than spend 800 - 1000e on a new kit thats total
bollix ie: pearl, pdp or cheapo gretsch just spend the cash
on some vintage ludwigs from ebay.

You will not be dissapointed & they will piss all over any kit
you could buy in a shop, imo :)
