No waaaay!? Cool. I just watched Taxi Driver the other night and then ended up watching the extras on the DVD. Great documentary about the making of Taxi Driver featuring pretty much the whole cast. Paul Schrader and all. Did he say anything interesting or was it just cool to see the man?

No waaaay!? Cool. I just watched Taxi Driver the other night and then ended up watching the extras on the DVD. Great documentary about the making of Taxi Driver featuring pretty much the whole cast. Paul Schrader and all. Did he say anything interesting or was it just cool to see the man?

In galway as part of the film fleadh.

It looks so vivid on the big screen!! there's something about american films from the 70's that look great - must have been the film stock or something! I've yet to see that documentary - sounds deadly. schrader was a bit of a wildman back then (according to "easy riders and raging bulls") with the drinking , the porno and his gun fetish - he said this mornin that the script (his first!) came out of a "a bad spell" when his marriage broke up and he lost his job and he was just drifting and drinking and living in his car - and that de niro and scorcese identified with travis immediately as if he were a real person so making the film was easy and they never talked much about it!! I hope i bump into him over the next few days, he seems like a sweet guy with a lot of stories

How fucking cool is that? Never seen Taxi Driver on the big screen, but even on the small screen, the shots are beatiful. Scorsese really had it. I saw Raging Bull on big screen and all the extra detail you see really makes the difference.
