Now entering it’s second year, Oscillations Festival provides extraordinary audio-visual events celebrating experimental music. Headlining this year's festival are seminal electronic psych legends Silver Apples. Having named the festival after the 1968 debut single, we're extremely honoured to present the band's first ever Irish tour and visit to Northern Ireland.
On the sliding scale of cultdom, Silver Apples are the real deal. One of the first groups to employ electronic music techniques extensively within a rock idiom, the band's hypnotic beats and electronic pulses anticipated not only the abstracted psychedelia of krautrock, but much of the underground dance and rock acts of the 90s. An anomaly in their own era, the band's primitive futurism remains largely unparalleled with a far ranging influence on contemporary avant garde music.
Other music highlights include Drive Like Jehu/Rocket From The Crypt/Hotsnakes' John Reis' (aka Speedo) "Ass Kicking Rock" outfit, The Night Marchers, experimental luthier to Sonic Youth Lee Ronaldo, Liars. Lightning Bolt, Enon and others, Yuri Landman, US improv rock-noise duo Blues Control, Manchester heavy drone psych collective Gnod and one-man surreal groove unit Man From Uranus.
We are pleased to announce a partnership with QFT, presenting documentaries on electronic music pioneers Pierre Henry and Jean-Jacques Perrey and enigmatic outsider folk recluse, Jandek.
Tickets (£40) are available to book online now. Tickets include entry to all music and film events throughout the festival.
