From my friends John & Laurie Stirratt, here are two sites you can go to to lend a hand to musicians in New Orleans left homeless by Katrina.

www.nomrf.org. which Wilco is directly involved with or the one below.

NOAHleans Website To Help Refugee Musicians:
A website has been set up as a clearing house for information, news and help for New Orleans musicians displaced to Houston by Hurricane Katrina. You can go there and book them, make donations, help them find instruments or housing, or just find out what's going on and contribute info if you have any. Go to www.NOAHLEANS.com

News On New Orleans Musicians:
New Orleans being the birthplace of so much of America's music, it is inevitable that some of our best-loved musicians are suffering along with everybody else. Fats Domino tried to ride out the storm at home in the city's Ninth Ward, which was soon underwater; Domino, his wife Rosemary, two daughters and a son-in-law were rescued by boat from a third-floor deck and made it to Baton Rouge, where they crashed in a small apartment already crowded with 15 people. They didn't know where they would go next. Irma Thomas, the Queen of New Orleans Blues, whose classic "Time Is On My Side" was covered by the Rolling Stones, is safe with relatives in Gonzales, Louisiana. The legendary producer and recording artist Allen Toussaint was said to be among the 25,000 people trapped in the Superdome; it was later reported that he had made it to New York. Aaron Neville and members of his family were safe in Memphis, but all the Nevilles' homes have been destroyed. Alex Chilton (Box Tops) tried to stay in New Orleans, but then got out safely. Clubowner Antoinette K-Doe, widow of Ernie K-Doe, was said to be armed and guarding the club. The profoundly influential drummer Earl Palmer and 84-year-old producer and arranger Dave Bartholomew are reported safe. We will post more details as we receive them.

People have been asking for Jane's song 'Calling All Angels' to be more available at this time (ie. someone is giving the song to relief workers). We have made it available for free on the website. Please send it where you feel guided to.
