FOAD Musick was one of the first independent Irish DIY music labels, starting out life in the early 1980’s where initial releases were concentrated on Paranoid Visions cassettes, moving onto vinyl in the mid 80’s and cassettes and cd’s in the late 80’s and 90’s. Introducing the unsuspecting public to artists as diverse as Irish Rockers the baby snakes, UK dub terrorists Radical Dance Faction, UK / Irish hardcore metal Coitus, Ska legends the Selector and of course a healthy dose of paranoid visions material.
The rejuvenated label, courtesy of the suprising commercial and critical success of Paranoid Visions since their reformation in 2005 has led to a number of new releases and between August and December the label will release a multitude of product.
FOAD1002CD: The Winter of our Malcontents is a live compilation album featuring The Freebooters, Droppin Bombs, Moutpiece, Liz is Evil, Ructions, The AMerkins, MongoHorn, Setting Off Sirens, Mommas Slippers, Dubtones and Paranoid Visions. This 22 track album recorded in Fibber Magees will retail for the price of a single (€5.99) and is released on August 13th
OVER124CD: Paranoid Visions, Black Operations in the Red Mist. This 39 track double album features tracks from the bands entire catalogue spanning 1984 – 2010 and includes a 20 page booklet full of reviews, sleeve notes and the full biography of the band to date. It retails for the price of a single album and is released on August 20th on exclusive Irish Licence from Overground Records
OVER123CD: Rubella Ballet, Never Mind the Dayglo. This compilation from London’s’ Anarcho punk turned death rock legends features the bands 2nd and third albums along with chart single 42F and Arctic Flowers. The band who have supported and toured with bands such as the damned, Faith no More and Death Cult (Ian Astbury has been a friend of the band for 30 years) have also been responsible for the film documentary “She’s a Punk Rocker UK”. The album is released on the 20th August on exclusive Irish Licence from Overground Records
FOAD1004CD: Setting Off Sirens, Step Up. This first official album fro Enniskillen’s power merchants is a stunning collection of material by anybodies standards. Crossing boundries between hardcore punk and metal with pop sensibilities, is best summed up as sounding like Brian Moloko fronting Black Flag playing Pixies covers. The album is out on September 3rd
FOAD1005CD: Liz is Evil, Failed Philosophy. This debut album from Dublin’s highly rated power punk / Alternative rock / grungy / whatever your having yourself / 3 piece is a superb slice of alternative Irish Rock. Best described as a band formed at a Nirvana Convention by Buzzcocks fans, the album is tipped to become an instant classic when its released on September 10th.
FOAD1006LP: Paranoid Visions, The Hate of then City is a live vinyl only release…strictly limited edition, recoded in Fibber Magees on September 11th 2009. Coming with a fold out colour poster sleeve this is going to be an instant collectors item. Released October 22nd.
