Myles Manley is one of Ireland’s foremost DIY popstars, blurring lines between folksinger sincerity and conceptual art. His 3-piece band with Chris Barry and Solamh Kelly plays minimalist, rhythmically blistering rock music in pop-size chunks, à la an hibernian Wire or latter-day Micachu and The Shapes. Now based in the US, Myles returns to Dublin to celebrate the launch of his new Tryptich 'Jeremiaaad' and he will be joined on the night by Garden Centre.
Garden Centre like to think about garden centres. Formed by members of King of Cats, Joanna Gruesome, Towel and Keel her, they make relatively erratic pop music. Some of that music is based on the experiences and memories of a group of people who used to hang out in an abandoned plant nursery. Garden Centre do not view the lives of these people in an objective or fair way.
