Guided By Voices are a load of shit. Anyone who's number one hit is about cheating on people can get fucked, really.

The book is absolutely excellent. If you're a COUM, TG, CC, etc, fan - you'll be loving it. If you're not an obsessive, the level of detail might be a bit much.
