jan 07 sees mugstar following up thier widely heralded 'my baby skull has not yet flowered' single with another firing 7" for trensmat. 'bethany heart star' is a furious head tripping hybrid of speed freak out sonics welded to a frantic krautrock. while on the flip 'bilkas crib' is like sun ra delivering hypnotic shock treatment with hammers. to feel anything other than apathy in this cynical age is a bonus....time to pay attention...

release is on limited numbered edition black vinyl 7" (dinked with 45 adapter included) in full colour 3/4 wraparound picture sleeve.

mugstar are the sound of 10,000 suns exploding, pulsing and repetitive beauty, sounding like a sonic mantra. they set sail for the sun in 2002 and have completed numerous voyagers with the likes of mogwai, melt banana, onieda, acid mothers temple and part chimp. the band recorded one of the last sessions for the late great john peel and featured in his festive 50. their new album was released in december 2006 on sea records / critical mass to universal acclaim and even lp of the year in penny black music magazine.
