After spending most of this year working on their side project Moderat, Modeselektor are back and their first weekend of gigs this year includes a performance at DEAF 09. The duo fuse elements of dancehall, dub and hip hop with their hometowns signature glitchy techno – Perfectly representing modern day Berlin, currently the world's party capital - Modeselektor are electronic music's ultimate party band. Djing on the night will be former Irish DMC cahmpion TU-KI and U:mack resident DJ Platinum Ray. Visuals on the night by the excellent Pfadfinderei.

I enjoyed them when they played in The Tivoli but the crowd were really really up for it so that probably helped. I think I might give this a miss as they haven't released anything new since that gig and I've seen Moderat which was better.

Haven't seen them since Electric Picnic in 2006 - they were amazing then. Their new mix is pretty good as well.

bah! that gig. decided to fetch some cans in the tent just before they came on and passed out for precisely the length of their set.

the stuff their releasing has gone downhill too
