Matt Lunson was born and raised in Tasmania, Australia.
His first music teacher was Miss Vaughan.
She made music fun and he promised to name his first album after her.
He was true to his word and his debut solo album, Miss Vaughan, was released here in Ireland last year to universal critical acclaim.
Matt has just performed at RTE’s Critically acclaimed television show Other Voices series, which also featured Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Teenage Fanclub and Asian Dub Foundation among others
Matt has played and supported the likes of Mundy, Bell x 1, Declan O’Rourke, Mary Coughlan, the walls, Keiron Black, turn, Hal and Camille O’Sullivan too name just a few.
The press said “And what an album to be named after. Miss Vaughan is a perfectly formed gem of a debut. Although a wide range of instrumentation is used, including trumpet, violin and slide guitar, it's Lunson's exquisite voice and universal lyrics that dominate proceedings.” 8/10 Hot Press
“Matt Lunson's debut is an exercise in lucid loveliness, instilling more than a hint of acoustic Radiohead as a result.

“It boasts the kind of parched angst Elliot Smith would be proud of.
Factor in lyrical epiphanies and you get an album that sparkles and shines.” **** The Irish Times
“Anyone who sings with a voice as clear as this is bound to evoke Radiohead comparisons and opening track Thirty-One is Spiritualised unplugged as sung by Bonnie Prince Billy.”Totally Dublin
