maersk was a band that i was in a thousand years ago (mainly with thomas and james, occasional thumpedees; known to some of you, i'm sure).

we released one e.p., called first line, and one compilation track, called '26.07.04'.

i finally got around to digging in the crates a bit (involved actual digging in actual crates... well, boxes).

here's the e.p.:

here's the comp track:

twas post-something slow-core instrumental minimal rock, or something. (we liked to compare to codeine and the for carnation and slint and bedhead, but then we would say that).

there are still a couple of boxes of the records on lovely heavy 10-inch vinyl - maybe i'll make those available through bandcamp.

anyway, have a listen - this was made with a lot of love, a long time ago.

You had me at Louisville...

The bass has that Noble/Slint thing happening alright. It has that sober sense of badness.

Pirouette, Unravel sounds like it's going down that forlorn Kadane route, but locks joints with a Shipping News groove.

Kentucky-core, I reckon. Louis-core, maybe.
You steered clear of regret-core - that was eating up the scene in the mid-noughties.
