" The USB support extension is curently disabled. Please refer to the USB

The extensions was enabled as viewed in Extenison Manager.

i might be able to help if i got a bit more info ...

1) What model of mac is it?
2) I take it you installed a USB card into the machine? like, it didnt come with one?
3) If so have you checked the card is in properly?
4) Do you have norton utilities?
5)Have you tried to rebuild the desktop on startup?
6) (for emergencies) Do you have a sledgehammer?

no

5)Have you tried to rebuild the desktop on startup?

mhm, its not desktop, so......:)

6) (for emergencies) Do you have a sledgehammer?

mhm again
don't even know what it is

but going back to the card itself
yuor suggestion no. 4 may be the one because yesterday i simply pushed the card into the slot quite 'harder' than usually and suddenly it started to work. now my powerbook recognizes devices connected to it. strange isn't it?

rebuilding the desktop: Restart and hold down the <something> key. I can never remember. It should be in your "Mac help"

Similarly:
Anyone got any ideas on how to get a Scanner working. OSx, scanner connected vi a SCSI card. Epson don't provide a new driver for the model (GT9500) and the old driver doesn't seem to work in Classic. I heard talk of getting to it through UNiX....

or

Anyone want to buy a fucking deadly SCSI scanner

or

Anyone recommend a deadly firewire scanner?
