UPDATE: A$AP Rocky has been detained in Sweden for an extra two weeks following his initial arrest on July 3. The rapper is being held for partaking in a fight in Stockholm last Sunday, in which he and three other individuals were involved in. Swedish authorities have confirmed to Newsbeat that his charge has been reduced from aggravated assault to assault. Rocky was due to headline London’s Wireless Festival this weekend. The festival is yet to comment on Rocky’s arrest.

However, gardaí believe a number of people who were at Longitude festival in Marlay Park, Rathfarham had gone to Lost Lane to continue socialising. Gardaí further suspect the men who tried to rush the door of the venue had also been at the festival.

Gardaí are treating the serious fracas as a spill over incident from Longitude. If the weapons found stashed around the Grafton Street area were linked to the men who tried to rush the door at Lost Lane, gardaí say that would confirm their suspicions the attempted gang attack was pre-planned.

Before the three-day Longitude festival began last Friday, the US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs tweeted a security alert about the event aimed at US citizens in Ireland.

Were the warning and the subsequent nightclub thing just based on the likelihood/reality of a load of troublemakers with knives and axes turning up to such an event because of the lineup (maybe something like that Phoenix park stabfest a few years ago) or is there something more to it?

I’m just back from said venue. Had to export all the cctv footage for gardaí.
Security Guards was ok. Nothing major
