A member of German radio artists group LIGNA will be giving a short talk tonight before the screening of the feature film "Lavorare Con Lentezza (Work Slowly)" which is an account of the circumstances leading to the birth of free-radio Radio Alice in late 70's Bologna, Italy...shown as part of the regular screenings in Seomra Spraoi every Wednesday at 7:30.

The German group are in Dublin as part of the "Out of Site" public live art festival this weekend. They use radio and performance/ interventions to explore subtle deviant gestures by the individual in commodified and legislated 'public' space. They will be doing three performance works in Henry Street on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and are looking for volunteers to participate. Contact the Out of Site website to get involved. Thorsten Michaelson will be in Seomra Spraoi to talk about their project for Dublin as well as show documentation of a similar project, Radio Ballet, they did in Hamburg in 2003.

Saw some of this video and was talking to someone who did the radio thing today. I never read the e-mail or this post coz it sounded too arty and difficult to understand for my late night internetting but..

It looked and sounds amazing, basically a load of people wearing earphones wandering around getting instructions from the radio people, having little adventures and freaking out shoppers around dublin.
I wish I could go over the weekend but Ballina calls..
