am trying to track down a book that would have been doing the rounds for leaving cert irish (honours and pass) as far as I know from 1994-1996. It was one of those books where there were only a limited number and had to ruin the last week of your summer holidays searching obscure bookshops to find as it was out of print.
anyway....
one story i do recollect from it is a boy who was looking after a farmers cattle but told not to go into the adjoining field as a giant owned it and if he trespassed there would be trouble. The boy naturally disobeys, feeds the cows on lush pastures and they produce urns overflowing with milk. giant returns. trouble. boy lops off giants head. giants brother finds out. more trouble. girl involved somewhere, a lot of running ar nos na gaoithe, three and seven times of everything.
so any leads? anyone know the book i'm talking about. It was as gaeilge of course.
