This Saturday night, Lazybird, in association with Hotel Ballymun, presents
CHEQUERBOARD is John Lambert, graphic designer extraordinare, musician and all-around nice guy. He's brought his guitar'n'computer-based music to such festivals as Mor and DEAF, and has appeared with us a couple of times before. In fact, he's even put out an EP, Dictaphone Showreels, on our very own label. John combines his guitar-playing with electronic squiggles to make music which has earned him comparisons to Aphex Twin and Four Tet. You can check out some samples here:

Also, there will be some performance art from H*E*R*D Eunhye Hwang & Declan Rooney
They will be performing a piece entitled "I'd run right into hell and back"
All this is happening at Hotel Ballymun, an artistic project of the Breaking Ground collective and Seamus Nolan. More info about it here:

Our gig takes place in the top (15th) floor of Clarke Towers. It's located right next to the Ballymun Shopping Centre, as shown here:

(From City Centre, you can get to the Shopping Centre on the 13A bus, which goes there from Merrion Square via O'Connell Street. The 104, 17A and 220 buses also go there.)
It's free in, but space in the venue will be limited, so phone 01-883 2112 to reserve a place!
