LAZYBIRD and ALPHABET SET present
A Bank Holiday Sunday special all-dayer
Anseo, upstairs 4pm-12:30am and downstairs 4pm-9pm
18 Lower Camden St., Dublin 2
__________________________

A very busy Sunday here in the Fair City this Bank Holiday weekend, but that hasn't kept us from teaming up with our Alphabet Set mates to put on an 8-hour-plus minifestival in both the upstairs and downstairs parts of Anseo.

What exactly is on offer? We're glad you asked...

DOWNSTAIRS!
From 4pm to 9pm, we present DJ sets from five of the best of the Lazybird/ABCSet Axis of Evil (in alphabeticalsetical order):

NEILIO IGLESIAS (Lazybird): sunny psychedelic music
KROSSPHADER (Neuromantek): dark drones, industrial dubstep and otherwise
IAN MCDONNELL (Lakker): beats and maybe even some modern classical
MOSSY (Lazybird): moribund and pagan noise
T-WOC (Alphabet Set): dub 'n' reggae 'n' t'ing

It's free in, so if you're heading to The Boredoms or elsewhere that night, stop on by for a pint or two and some great music.

UPSTAIRS!
From 4pm to 11pm, a smorgasborg of live sets from some of Ireland's best and brightest electronic acts, and only 5 euro gets you in for the entire day. Here's the menu (as always with these sorts of things, running order is approximate and subject to change):

4pm, DEVON DROUNZ: A chopped-up collaboration between prodigal sons Simon "TroubledSoul" Milligan and Keith "Amoebazoid" O'Brien.

5pm, MUTTERMAL: A noise-orientated project from Ewan "Herv" Hennelly. Experimental clicks, drones and bones.

6pm, SARSPARILLA: Electrons and laser-guided reeling dancefloor groping.

7pm: Laptop DJ set from Lazybird/ABCSet residents.

8pm, ED DEVANE: Experimental lap steel plus a multitude of loopers, mixers and beats.

9pm, FRINGE: Electronica from Holly McGowan, launching her excellent new ABCNET release Chairs.

10pm, CIGNOL: Dancey electronica with melodies, wrestling and spontaneous use of extra limbs.

Then after the live music's all finished, it'll be free in until closing, with more laptop DJing from some combination of Johnny Alpha (Alphabet Set), ebauche (Alphabet Set) and Paul Watts (Lazybird).

So if you can make time in your busy afternoon/evening/nighttime schedule this Sunday and stop by Anseo, we'll see you there!

didn't see much of the live music, but saw a bit of fringe and cygnal. very good, especially fringe.

john and alex's dj set at the end as brilliant too.

i have the downstairs dj sets in one large mp3. sound quality isn't the best though. dunno why. grr
