This will be Larkin's third visit to Ireland in a year. We toured with her last year. Sehe performs solo with guitar and dulcimer and is one of the most powerful live performers I've ever seen.

This year Larkin has mesmerized audiences across Europe with a snowballing troupe of fans following her from town to town and at the Terrastock 6 festival in Providence where she has been noted as a festival highlight by almost blogging 'Scopehead on the planet. Larkin has shared bills with Devendra Banhart, Spires that in the Sunset Rise, Espers, Mi and L’au and Brightblack Morning Light. Nomadic by nature, she'll be touring around the US and Europe for the forseable future, continuing to win converts everywhere she goes.

Thinguma*jigsaw are our new adoptees, a Norwegian banjo/flute/voice duo now living in Dublin. They'll begin recording an album for Deserted Village soon.

Two elusive, exeptional, pivotal personalities - cunningly spinning a web of flamboyant brouhahas within the idiom of their own device: charming, clever, generous, sinister splatterfolk.
Splatterfolk combines elements of traditional british folk with contemporary art music, and spices it up with lyrical and musical components usually associated with horrorfilms and modernistic poetry. There is also an abundance of filmatic references. It's the new revolution within contemporary folk music, and you will find no finer exponents of this subversive art than Thinguma*jigSaw.

Ropewalker are a piano and Megaphone vocals duo, kinda Waitsesque

The Shed is a new workshop space and venue in the City centre, off Connolly Station, Dublin 1. Following a specific policy, this pilot project has been created to give location to foreign artists resident in Ireland and their unconventional approach to art and communication. The purpose of this project is cultural exchange, and the hope is to facilitate interaction between contemporary artists from different cultures and disciplines through the “Stranger than Paradise” programme, to promote diversity. This is an independent project. Foreign artists active in Dublin in various disciplines, who are interested in renting a workspace within the venue and/or to be involved in the management of regular events, can be shortlisted presenting their CV/Portfolio and proposal to: McBett, The Shed @ 17/21 Foley Street Dublin 1 Tel: 0877954727 e-mail: [email protected] http://www.mcbett.net
