The Hideous Penguin (Live Turntablist Scratch Set)

T-Woc (Alphabet Set, Mantua)

Kerrynini djs (Johnny Doobs & The Man With No Name)

Friday 5th of December

Perry's Hotel Basement, Limerick.

Doors 9.30 – 1am Admission – 6 euros

Nu Killa Kru soundsystem in effect again for the extra wobble.

Heads up! First off, big thanks to all those who came out and ruckus-ed for the Gaslamp Killer last month – good times. We got plenty more
live niceness coming up over the next few months, trying to cover as many bases as we can. This time, we're bringing a full Irish
line-up, with Galway's killer-cut monster The Hideous Penguin and Dublin's finest dub merchant, T-Woc. For fans of cutting-edge
electronica, turntablism, dubstep, roots and hiphop – this is one to rock the socks off your dancing feet, pushing sounds that ain't
heard too often around these parts.

Both of these cats been clocking up serious productions, gigs and kudos in the last few years so cop 'em here with us before they get worldwide fame and fortune. We'll be using the basement area of Perry's Hotel (where the record fair is normally on) for a change of scenery and some dark underground atmospherics. This will be a 1am closing time
event, so make sure to try and get in early to get full value for your pennies. Needless to say, sweaty dancing is heartedly endorsed.

Sorry about the delay getting mixes sent on to anyone who signed up for newsletter at the last event – a hard-drive was wiped unexpectedly in the meantime. Soon, we promise.

Jimmy The Hideous Penguin

Jimmy the Hideous Penguin is a scratch wunderkind. As well as performing with the turntablist quartet Vince Mackmahon, the Galway based chap showcases his own solo compositions using turntables, mixer, foot pedals, laptop and effects. And he's been at it quite a while too,
producing a heap of music thats arranged, sampled and perfomed primarily through scratching. Nine albums at 21 years of age – Holy Moses above, how does he do it? Add to this the fact that he's supported everyone from Dalek to D-Styles to the Gaslamp Killer, along with competing in numerous DMC events, and you have quite an impressive turntablist's curriculum vitae. Jimmy will be performing his live turntablist showcase forthe first time in Limerick on the night. Info and free music...

T-Woc
t-woc.jpg

T-Woc = producer, DJ, radio host, promoter and general man of all things Jah. A founder of the electronic collective Alphabet Set, he's a head who's put serious time into this whole music thing. Selector of everything dub and bass related, he's been wrecking shop for years in Dublin and
Galway with Rootical Soundsystem and the Wobble crew. His production work has seen him release 4 vinyl goodies, on labels such as All City and Netlab, and collaborations with roots legend Brother Culture. T-woc crosses nuff musical boundaries, as heard on his weekly show on Raidio
Na Life, lashing out everything from dubstep to roots to hiphop to psych. We have Don Woc doing a special DJ set for us to end the night, so expect to wobble, skank and nice up the dance – big style!
