The Roisin Dubh Trust has announced that the statue in Dublin to the late guitar legend Phil Lynott of THIN LIZZY will be officially unveiled the weekend of August 19-20, 2005.

The unveiling of the life size-bronze statue will take place in the late evening once all trading has ceased for the day, in the very busy trade and tourist area of Grafton Street in Dublin on Friday, August 19.

New national holiday? It'll be like Paddy's day except we get to do skag as well as loads of booze!

8-9 pm i've just found out; surely at the business end of the spike would be a better location for him though?

Is anyone going to the overpriced unveiling gig in the point on the 20th? Gary 'Scarface' Moore is headlining along with many ex-Lizzy members. Actually, what did happen to that fucker's face? Was he thrown through a window? Sliced up by scumbags? Stained with a perpetual dose of acne? The secret, white brother of Seal? I'm interested, but not that interested, y'know?

So, will Downey play with Gorham and Robertson? Are they all even on speaking terms with each other? Who will pull out at the last minute? Will that black imposter that sings in the new Lizzy show his unwelcome face? It's like the ultimate episode of an Irish rock soap opera
