Jack Rose (Beautiful Happiness / VHF) is guitar player of some note.
His ability is to hush a room with his passionate and transfixing
playing full of American folk, bottleneck experimentations and raag
like sessions is an experience to behold. Jack has a new single
release and a reissue of his album 'Raag Manifestos' to coincide with
this mini-tour.
He is more than a traditionalist as he transfigures the Raag into a
kind of Dream Music, Folk into a Deep Listening Experience and Blues
to a Minimalist Freak. Pure spirit lifting music that warms the air it
travels over. The influence of John Fahey and the so-called
"Takoma-school (Robbie Basho and Max Ochs) is there caught within his
own sound as are their antecedents, Indian music and pre-war American
guitar music.
Jack Rose has worked his guitar ragged playing with Glen Jones,
Fursaxa, Mogwai, Chris Corsano, MVEE and Sunn 0))).
