Interesting, if somewhat creepy article on Muzak from the New Yorker a few weeks ago:

As if it weren't rubbed in our faces enough, the Muzak company does not pipe music into the elevators in its coroporate headquarters.

Inneresting article, I never knew it was that, 'organised' - mind control freaks!

Yeah, it's pretty Twilight Zone.

And it seems like a lot of proper music lovers get into it. Somehow, it was less disturbing thinking it was naive use of music, when actually, it's a very conscious manipulation of music. It kind of makes more sense -- manipulation of it would require some pretty good knowledge of a lot of things, but still. Someday there's going to be a headline that the whole Muzak company drank the kool aid.
