Instead of browser window opening, notepad opens with the code (1 Viewer)

Whenever I click a link in a programme other than a webbrowser, like an IM programme, instead of a browser window popping up as used to happen, notepad opens with just the raw code. Does anyone know how I remedy this? It's hella annoying.

might just be your file associations are messed up

How do I fix it? I am stewpid.

quickest way might be to just re install yer browser of choice

Right click on the link and choose 'Open with', there should then be also an option to allow the computer to remember your chosen program.
