After weaving its way around the country over the course of the last 6 weeks, the IMRO Tour reaches its climax with a “Best of Tour” Showcase in the Village, Dublin on Saturday 14th April. The show will be hosted by RTE 2FM's Dave Fanning who is a firm champion of the tour, "It has been an honour to be involved with the best organised showcase event for the past 16 years. There is no better way to see the best that's out there in any given 12 months. It's as simple as that."
The IMRO Showcase Tour is one of the most sought after gigs on the Irish music calendar each year.
The Tour has a strong reputation for showcasing the best emerging Irish acts on the cusp of success.
“The IMRO Tour is a single best option for elevating the profile of new bands in Ireland. The mix of styles of bands is more beneficial as it means expansion outside of a circle of genre specific audiences. It also enables bands to break into the press and media circle. It can also leave an
indelible impression and people start to question how come they didn't know a certain band before the showcase. For Fight Like Apes it was an opportunity to expand, but also to show that the horizons of music in Ireland are continually shifting and that just because a band can't be pigeon-holed or isn't another generic rock band, doesn't mean that people wont be interested, in fact we found the opposite is more true.” Dave Curran, Band Manager - Fight Like Apes.
*** Make sure to pick up a copy of the Star Newspaper on Friday 20th April - Containing a FREE CD with 20 featured acts from the tour this year ***
