I think thata version in Tower (if its the one I'm thinking of) has some of the frames cropped. So its kinda cut more than the running time would suggest.

{sub-spoiler - this contains discussion of genital slicing} after the bath scene, i looked up 'ISOYG femoral artery' assuming that's what had been sliced - but any synopses or discussions i've found say that she 'severs his genitals'. she makes one quick, sharp cut and there's almost instantly a huge gush of blood - a quick stab wouldn't slice through (sorry) the whole base of his genitals, and the gushing blood suggests a cut artery rather than a flesh wound. not really going anywhere with this, just wanted to register my interpretation somewhere in cyberspace.

Film censor boards have always taken it easier on art house films that weren't directed by Ken Russell but in recent years very few films seem to get cut. The new Piranha move had a 3d severed cock in it and it still only got a 16 cert..

Bring back the good old days where the distributor for Nightmares in a Damaged Brain got 6 months in jail for selling an already cut version of the film.

The Wayanses aren't all that bad. I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and Don't Be a Menace etc. are pretty watchable.
Also, that Miller test thingy you're linking to seems to apply to sexual conduct only, which seems to be a pretty lax definition of obscenity. Possibly one could take the interpretation that the Wayanses are fucking the audience with their post-Scary Movie output.

The original Saw is pretty decent too, never watched any past the second, just kind of assumed they got progressively worse.
