So, 250GB external drive I have is coming to the end of it's life. It had been a bit dodgy for a while, and now Windows just won't recognise it's attached to the computer. Over the last few days I've gotten the machine to randomly allow me access to it on only one occasion.

However, I had the brainwave to see what my shitty old Android tablet made of it, and it has no problem seeing it whatsoever. OK so transferring over the 250GB on the drive will be a pain in the hole using the 8GB micro USB card I have in the tablet, but at least I can rescue the data that I don't already have backed up!

Anyway, just thought I'd share as it may save some of you from data loss hell in the future.

I know. I was thinking that Android is clearly using a different method to recognise the drive to Windows, so whatever windows is doing is borked, but the Android method works fine. I have absolutely no idea why.
